Historic Thalian Hall

Thalian Hall at the turn of the 20th century.

The Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. is proud to operate historic Thalian Hall.

The Hall has a long and illustrious history which spans 150 years. The THCPA is fortunate to have as its Executive Director, D. Anthony Rivenbark, a nationally recognized theatre historian. “Tony” has been researching the history of Wilmington theatre for over three decades and is in the process of organizing this wealth of information into a cohesive history of the building and the history of theatre in Wilmington and the surrounding region.

For the first time we are able to make some of this work available online. Explore here to learn about Thalian Hall’s history, inquire about lectures and guided tours, and even learn about and share your opinions about whether the Thalian Hall might house ghost or two.
