RentalsPerforming in Thalian HallPolicies and InformationParking The parking lot next to Thalian Hall on Chestnut Street may not be used Monday through Friday before 5PM. County Commissioner's spaces on the east end of the parking lot are not available until 7:00 PM. This parking lot belongs to New Hanover County and may only be used for theatre parking in the evenings and on weekends. Metered parking is available in the lot behind the theatre on Fourth Street, two-hour parking is available on Third Street and Chestnut Street, and a parking deck is located across the street from the theatre on Third Street. Entering the Theatre Performers should use the Backstage Door on the Fourth Street Loading Dock Entrance when entering the theatre. Please do not use Main Entrance Remain Backstage Once in the theatre, performers should remain backstage in their assigned areas. Performers should avoid entering or using the lobby which serves theatre patrons and visitors to City Offices. If you have to be in the lobby for any reason, please act responsibly. Greenroom The Greenroom, located backstage on the main floor, has a soft drink vending machine and must remain accessible to all users of the theatre. The Greenroom may not be monopolized as a dressing area. Snacks and drinks may be consumed in the Greenroom only. Trash must be disposed of in available trashcans. Dressing Rooms It is the responsibility of the lessee to remove all lessee property from the dressing rooms and leave them in good order. A member of the technical staff will inspect the dressing rooms with the producer or stage manager to determine their condition. Failure to adequately clean at the end of the rental period will result in a deduction of cleaning fees from the security/damage deposit. Food and/or Drinks Under no circumstances may food or drinks be taken into the auditorium's seating area or on stage. Food and drinks may be consumed only in the Greenroom or on the Fourth Street Loading Dock. Only items purchased at the Thalian Hall Concessions Counter may be consumed in the Parquet lobby. Valuable Items Do not bring valuable items into the theatre or the backstage areas and leave them unattended. THCPA is not responsible for personal items. Lost & Found The Center Box Office manages Thalian Hall's Lost & Found and may be contacted by telephone Tuesday-Saturday from 2PM-6PM. Again, THCPA, Inc. is not responsible for personal items brought into the facility. Stage Manager The client's stage manager should meet with a member of the technical staff (before the load-in of the event if possible). The technical staff will instruct the stage manager as to coordination of the opening of the house and the curtain with the Thalian Hall House Manager. Telephone The telephone backstage may only be used for local calls. When answering this phone, please greet callers with "Thalian Hall Backstage." No Smoking Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Thalian Hall or City Hall facilities. Smoking is permitted outside the theatre only, on the Loading Dock on Fourth Street or on the Chestnut Street Portico. Please extinguish and dispose of cigarettes, pipes or cigars in designated receptacles only. Souvenirs and Videotapes The sale of Souvenirs and/or videotapes is not permitted anywhere on the Thalian Hall premises without the express permission of the Thalian Hall Administration. Arrangements must be made with the THCPA Administration and a percentage of the sales must be paid to Thalian Hall. Seating In order to be fair to all persons attending events at Thalian Hall, seating will begin one-half hour prior to performance. The auditorium will be cleared of all persons prior to opening for seating. For general admission events you may not take a seat ahead of time and THCPA strongly advises against saving a seat by leaving a coat, purse or other item. Ushers THCPA provides trained volunteer ushers for all ticketed events in the Thalian Hall complex. Photography Flash photography and videotaping is forbidden for most events in Thalian Hall. While the Administration of Thalian Hall strongly advises against using flash photography because of its potential to disorient performers, the final decision will be left up to the person in charge of the organization renting the theatre. Ticketing/Box Office All ticket sales on premises must be conducted through the Center Box Office.Complimentary ticket vouchers may not be redeemed by telephone, but must be redeemed at the Box Office window. Seats may not be used without a ticket. Posters and Notices Posters, advertising and notices may not be taped to any lobby wall. Notices may be taped up in designated areas backstage only under the supervision of the Production Manager. |
